Can the coffee be contaminated with harmful substances, particularly after descaling (e.g. lead)?

All metal parts which have contact with food consist of stainless steel, which does not contaminate the beverages. This was confirmed by independent testing institutes.

I am using a water filter for my fully-automatic coffee machine, when does this require changing?

Change the water filter after approximately 50 litres or every two months at the latest, irrespective of the water amount.

My fully-automatic coffee machine is not producing the correct amounts (too much coffee, or not enough).

The coffee produced by my fully-automatic coffee machine lacks crema.

The coffee may not be fresh. Replace the coffee or try another type of coffee. The grinding setting may also be incorrect. Adjust this as described in your operating instructions.

The coffee produced by my fully-automatic coffee machine is too cold.

Please descale your appliance as specified in the operating instructions in the section entitled “Cleaning and care”. In the case of model KV 8090, it is also possible to rinse the spout first (press the button combination ON/off and the hot water drop symbol simultaneously). This pre-heats the system and makes the first coffee hotter.

No coffee, or not enough coffee, is coming out of the spout of my fully-automatic coffee machine,

The removable brewing unit may be soiled. Clean this under running water. Please also note the cleaning and care tips in the operating instructions. The grinding setting may be too fine, blocking the brewing unit. Select a coarser grinding setting, taking note of the information in your operating instructions.

My fully-automatic coffee machine is displying an error message.

How often should i descale my coffee machine?

Depending on the hardness of the water, the appliance should be descaled at least every two weeks, and possibly more frequently, in accordance with the operating instructions.

After brewing is completed, the coffee machine switches off automatically after approximately half an hour.

The new Eco-Design Directive has applied to all coffee machines sold in the EU for several years. This stipulates that an appliance must be placed in standby or off mode after an appropriate length of time.

The coffee machine stops brewing during the preparation phase.
